Department’s Facilities

The department of Anatomy is equipped with all the facilities required for training of MBBS students.

• Dissection Hall

  A spacious air conditioned and well lit dissection hall is available that includes a mortuary with two mortuary plants having capacity of 3 cadavers each. Dissection hall has a seating capacity of 100 students. It has multimedia to facilitate students during small group discussions. Labeled Prosected specimens, original & artificial loose bones and articulated skeletons are available for deeper understanding during demonstrations. The department has a set of Acland’s DVD of gross anatomy dissection to guide the students. Moreover, laminated picture sheets and anatomical charts are available for teaching and self-study of theoretical and practical content.
• Histology Lab

  The Department has a well-lighted, air conditioned and ventilated histology laboratory with 20 binocular microscopes (Labomed CXL) and slide projecting microscope connected with LED screen to show histological slides during practical. It can magnify and capture specific sections of the slide that can be converted into photographs. Three sets of histology slides which cover all the topics included in histology syllabus are available.
• Anatomy Museum

  The Anatomy Museum is well equipped with models of Gross anatomy, embryology, histology and neuroanatomy. Articulated skeletons are also available. Three torsos and a Cross sectional torso is there to give deeper understanding of cross sectional anatomy at 15 serial levels. Multimedia is available for small group discussion.
• Tutorial Room

  An air conditioned tutorial Room is available with multimedia for small group discussion
• Faculty Enclave

  The faculty enclave comprises of offices of Professor, associate professor, assistant professors, demonstrators and a departmental library.
• Administerial Staff

  The administerial staff includes a computer operator, qualified histology laboratory Technician, lab assistant, museum curator, two dissection hall attendants.

All these facilitate a conducive and effective teaching / learning environment and working of the department.
