INTRODUCTION
Gulab Devi Hospital has been providing exceptional care for the patients and their families since 1934 with passion and commitment. With the passage of time the services had been expanded and currently it has been evolved to a more than 1500 hundred bedded tertiary care general hospital. Gulab Devi provides the full range of clinical services, tertiary care, health promotion and prevention programs. Al Aleem Medical College was established in 2017, which is another milestone to provide the quality medical education equipped with the practical approach of training for our doctors. Al-Aleem Medical College (AAMC) and affiliated Gulab Devi Hospital is offering 5 years graduate degree program as MBBS and wide range of postgraduate degree programs with the accreditation of University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore and College of Physician and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP). All these credentials of the AAMC and GDH endeavors great research opportunity for the students and the faculty engaged with the medical education programs.
Al-Aleem Medical College consists of 13 essential departments categorized as basic, preclinical and clinical departments. In addition to these essential departments a wide range of medical-allied and surgical-allied sub specialties and super-specialties are part of the undergraduate and postgraduate training programs. Quality patient care can never be complete without strong allied health sciences and quality nursing education. Scope And Function
The Research cell is established under the official notification by the Principal Al- Aleem Medical College vide reference number AAMC/Notification/24/D-2300 dated 26 November 2024, in order to execute following functions:
1. Research Cell will coordinate, monitor, and promote research activities within the institution as per policies and guidelines of accreditation institutions and regulatory bodies (Universities/CPSP and PMDC)
2. Research cell will play an advisory role in coordination and steering the research activity in various disciplines and department in the domain of the institution.
3. Research cell will endorse Research Advisory Committee (RAC) approved standard uniform guidelines and SOPs for research proposal development and report writings in AAMC.
4. Research cell will endorse the RAC approved research manual for research proposal development and submission for various disciplines and departments of the AAMC.
5. Research Cell will arrange and manage the capacity building workshops on research methodology for faculty and students.
6. Research Cell will arrange research dissemination seminars and conferences to promote the research culture in the institution.
7. Research Cell will coordinate with IT and DME department for keeping data repository and records of ongoing and completed and published research outcomes of the various departments of AAMC
