RESOURCE LABS FOR RESEARCH
All the laboratories of Al-Aleem Medical College and Gulab Devi Hospitals are affiliated as resource lab for the Research Cell. A brief description of resource labs is given below
AAMC Laboratories
Each preclinical/basic sciences department of medical college have its own independent laboratory. The laboratories are equipped to conduct the diagnostic tests referred by GDH patients. The laboratories are also capable of conducting practical tests included in the curriculum of the MBBS course. Each laboratory facility is purposely equipped according to the strength of the enrolled students. There are seven laboratories in the AAMC college campus. These are:
1. Microbiology lab
2. Pathology lab
3. Pharmacology lab
4. Forensic Medicine lab
5. Biochemistry lab
6. Physiology lab
7. Anatomy Histology lab
Al-Aleem Centre of Advanced studies and Research
Al-Aleem Centre of Advanced studies of research was established in the GDH main building for the purpose of DNA and Gene Analysis. Advance research cell is established to support the higher degree program in basic and applied research
Radiological Department Diagnostic Services
An established radiology department is equipped with the routine and advanced diagnostic services. The advanced diagnostic services include CT scene and MRI and invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Gulab Devi Hospital Labs
Gulab Devi Hospital is providing state-of-the-art clinical services to a large catchment area population of Punjab through OPD and 1500 bedded indoor services. It consists of more than 30 clinical diagnostics and therapeutic disciplines. Full range of routine and diagnostic laboratory services are available in the Hospital premises. These include the following specific diagnostic labs:
1. Main GDH Lab:
Main lab is headed by an experienced consultant Pathologist. It provides a full range of routine diagnostic tests and advanced diagnostic services, i.e., PCR for hepatitis and tuberculosis.
2. Microbiology Research Lab:
Microbiology lab is headed by an experienced consultant microbiologist, and it provides a full range of routine microbiological tests and advanced research diagnostics for both OPD and indoor patients of the Gulab Devi Hospital.
3. Histopathology Research Lab:
Histopathology lab is headed by an experienced consultant histopathologist and is also used for research programs and projects. It provides a full range of routine histopathology and advanced diagnostic services for OPD and indoor patients of the Gulab Devi Hospital.
4. Gene Expert diagnostic services:
Gulab Devi Hospital was established as a TB hospital, and it has maintained its legacy by updating the tuberculosis diagnostic services. The latest diagnostic tests for tuberculosis are supported by the Pulmonology Department of GDH.
